Your go-to place for everything you’ll need as we plan your session together
Client Lounge
Location plays a big role in the overall feel of your senior photos — but maybe not in the way you’d expect. More than finding one “perfect” spot, it’s about choosing locations that work well with light, outfits, and the vibe you want your gallery to have.
Location planning
Some locations feel soft and natural. Others feel bold, modern, or editorial. Both can photograph beautifully — the key is choosing spots that support your style and allow us to work with great light.
That’s where I come in. I’ll help narrow down options, pair locations with your outfits, and make sure everything flows smoothly on session day.
Not every location needs to be meaningful — it just needs to match the overall look you’re going for.
If your collection includes more than one location, keeping them close together helps us maximize shooting time and keep the session relaxed.
We want space where you can walk, sit, lean, and move naturally without feeling rushed or crowded.
A single location with multiple looks (walls, greenery, paths, textures) gives us more variety without wasting time traveling.
Clean backgrounds help keep the focus on you — not random signs, cars, or busy foot traffic. Locations with simple textures and space to work photograph more timelessly and give your images that polished, editorial feel.
This matters more than anything. Open shade, soft backlight, and flattering angles make a huge difference in how your photos look.
what to look for in a great location
Urban locations offer a more modern, structured look. Brick, concrete, clean lines, architectural details, and city textures create images that feel bold, polished, and fashion-forward.
These locations pair well with tailored outfits, statement pieces, and a more editorial style.
If you have a city or urban idea you love, share it during our consultation and we’ll explore how it could work.
Natural locations feel relaxed, soft, and timeless. These spots often include greenery, open space, water, or textured natural elements and photograph beautifully in soft light.
They work especially well for flowy outfits, neutral tones, and sessions that feel easy and organic.
Have a natural spot in mind? Bring it up during our consultation and we’ll talk through whether it’s a good fit.
To keep things simple, I group locations into two main styles. Most sessions include one or a mix of both, depending on your collection and the look you’re going for. Have a spot in mind? I love when seniors bring ideas to our consultation — we’ll talk it through and see how it fits your overall look and light.
